Documents, folders and memos
Write pages, group them, draw a flow, and capture a short note on a date.
Kraken is the knowledge workspace for the active workspace. The sidebar is Today, Memo, Kraken Research, Library, Bridge and Settings, plus the page tree: Private, Teamspaces and Shared.
Create a page
- Pick the workspace Kraken shows that workspace’s pages and no others.
- In Private, create a document, a folder, or a flow A document is a page. A folder groups pages and can be exported as a zip of Markdown. A flow is a diagram: flowchart, database, architecture, network, or a freeform canvas.
- Type The title and body save as you go. A page created inside a folder inherits that folder’s sharing and lock.
- Or import Import Markdown on the home screen turns .md files into pages.
Write
- Type / for headings, lists, tables, code, callouts, diagrams, links to other pages, and files.
- Select text for the formatting toolbar, including Improve writing, Summarise, Fix grammar and tone.
- Type @ to mention a teammate. Mentions notify them.
- Set status to draft, review or published from the document toolbar.
- Lock a page to make it read-only. Locking a page locks its subpages.
- Export one page as Markdown or a standalone HTML file. Export a folder as a zip.
Organise the tree
Drag pages to nest and reorder them. Use New page and Move when you would rather not drag. Private pages are yours. A page shared with the workspace appears under Teamspaces. A private page that has been shared with specific people appears under Shared. Archive a page when it is finished. Restore it from Library → Archive. Permanently purging an archived page is an admin action.
Memos
Memo is a notebook, separate from documents. It has Calendar, Board and List. Quick capture saves a title, body, optional date, pin and colour. Click a calendar day to start a memo on that date. Drag a dated memo to another day to move it. Notes without a date stay in the side rail and do not become calendar events. Dated memos also show on ShellStack → Calendar → My Notes.
Link a page to the work
Open Links & resources and find a resource to attach a client, project, task or another page. The client and the project must belong to this workspace, and the project must belong to the client. From Tides, use the link control on the task. The page and the card then point at each other.
