Calendly will give you a link. It will not know who is on leave.

Calendly is a booking page. ClickUp can bolt a link onto the blob. A studio needs a public link whose open slots already exclude leave, the connected calendar, and the meeting you just booked.

I like a booking link. A client should not have to email three times to find Thursday. What I do not like is a second calendar that has never heard of the leave calendar, the Google event already on Tuesday, or the client the meeting is for. The link is the easy part. The week it lands on is the product.

Scheduling lives on the suite calendar, next to My Calendar and Leave. You get booking links, the meetings already booked, and working hours. A new workspace starts with three links: a 15-minute sync, a 30-minute discovery, and a 60-minute working session. Copy the link, pause it, or throw it away. The public page is /book and the slug. The guest does not need an account.

What an open slot actually means

  • Your weekly hours and timezone. A Saturday you turned off is not offered.
  • A buffer after a meeting, and a slot interval of 15, 30 or 60 minutes. A slot also needs an hour’s notice, so one that starts in five minutes is not offered.
  • A full day of leave closes that day. A half day takes the morning.
  • Events already on a connected Google or Outlook calendar are busy. So are meetings you or a teammate already booked here.
  • The guest picks a time in their timezone, leaves a name, an email and a company, and gets the meeting. If that company matches a client, the meeting is that client’s.

Inside the team, without a public link

A client link is one job. Finding a time with two teammates is another. Pick the people, see who is free against who is busy or on leave, and book the mutual slot. That meeting uses the same hours, the same leave, and the same connected calendars. It is not a second product with a second login.

Where the meeting goes

A link can be Google Meet, Teams, Zoom, a phone call, a place, or a URL you already have. Once it is booked it shows on the suite calendar, and it syncs to the host’s connected Google Calendar or Outlook when that connection exists. The guest can add it to their own calendar. Cancel it and it comes off. You do not keep a Calendly login just to remember Thursday.

A booking link that cannot see leave is a polite way to book someone who is not there.

Use Calendly when the link is the whole business. Use this when the meeting has to sit on the same week as leave, the board and the client.
